Chunhyang and Sim Cheong
There should not many aged Korean love stories, yet we all know the tale of Chunhyang.
In 1892, the 1st Korean to go to Paris, Hong Jong-u, helped post a French model of the tale of Chunhyang.
Titled “Fragrant Springtime” (the which means of “Chunhyang”), it's the first Korean tale ever released in a western language.
A couple of years later, a moment, extra constructed novel set in Korea was once released, “
A useless Tree Blossoms.” It contains components of the tale of Sim Cheong and her blind father, yet is particularly diverse in lots of unforeseen methods.
In 1919 an English translation of it was once released within the US, yet no one spotted it.
In this new ebook, the French model of “Chunhyang” has been translated into English and is released with the 1919 English textual content of “A useless Tree Blossoms” and a pair of different Korean love stories translated 100 or extra years ago.
Interestingly, the 2 major tales either show sharp feedback of corrupt officers and a powerful predicament for social justice.
